Day 46 – 60 Day Challenge

Today was a solid day. Weekends are always a challenge with eating but having work during the week helps keep me structured and it makes it a lot easier to stay focused and on track. Went back to CrossFit after a couple weeks off. Not intentional, just trying to find a time that works. Ideally I’d like to go a couple times per week.

Day 45 – 60 Day Challenge

Today was a relatively balanced day although I didn’t track. But I did manage to run 7 miles despite being very sore after Saturday’s weight lifting class. I was worried about the run because of how sore my body was, but I ended up being able to run the entire 7 miles without stopping. This is the most I’ve run several months (since my half marathon in June). I’ve been running pretty regularly the past couple months and I think that combined with the weight loss is really helping with my endurance. The best part was feeling like I could keep running, even after the 7 miles. Progress!

Worked Out: Yes. Ran for 70 minutes (7 miles)

Day 44 – 60 Day Challenge

Day was sort of meh. Started off fairly well as most days do. I think my downfall was letting something emotional affect my choices in the evening. I don’t usually tend to be an emotional eater (although boredom can sometimes get the best of me) but there are times (like last night) where I have a “fuck it all” moment. Granted, I actually ate something that was relatively healthy. But I didn’t need to eat at all. I’m over it now. These moments are wont to happen. But hopefully they are few and far between.

Worked Out: Yes. 60 min weight lifting class called “body pump” lol

Feeling: Meh

Day 43 – 60 Day Challenge

Today was good. Until dinner. Granted, I think I keep forgetting I’m allowing myself to cheat every so often. And I did. I had a BLTA at dinner and a manhattan at a show. I shouldn’t feel guilty. But I do. I think even though I am allowing myself to splurge a few times a week (a necessity in life), I still feel like I should be good ALL the time. I need to get over this because I don’t feel like I should feel this way when it’s all a part of finding balance. Something I need to work on.

Date: December 13th, 2013

Days Complete: 13

Tracked: Yes

Worked Out: Yes. 30 minutes of running, 30 minutes of walking.

Feeling: Guilty. But trying to get over it.

Day 42 – 60 Day Challenge

Another solid day, even with a trip to Ali Baba for lunch! I love mediterranean food but I felt good about eating only have of the bread in the schwerma that I had. I also had a great run which made me feel good. My runs from earlier this week were a struggle (I think due to traveling) so I was a bit worried to get on the treadmill again. But I felt so good, like I could run forever. I kept upping the speed and was still able to keep going for 4.5 miles. Had a healthy salad for dinner to top off the day.

Days Complete: 12

Worked Out: Yes. 4.5 miles on the treadmill

Feeling: Pumped. Keep seeing the number go down on the scale which is awesome!

Day 41 – 60 Day Challenge

Had a solid day back at home, at least in terms of food. Sadly I didn’t get a chance to work out, but I am okay taking a day off every now and then.

Trying to remember to add little snacks in during the day can be challenging. But I feel like it will help me to not feel starving at meals and also make sure my calorie intake stays at a good level. Almonds have been my recent go to. I usually only eat 7 at a time but it helps curb hunger, is good for me and not too crazy of calories (plus good fat, etc).

What are some great snacks you can recommend?

Feeling: Still jetlagged but at happy it’s at least warming up slightly. 🙂

Day 40 – 60 Day Challenge

Day 10 was what I would call a great maintenance day. I didn’t eat crappy food, but I ate slightly higher calories than I would had I been trying to stick with my plan. That being said I am not going to beat myself up. I think I did pretty well under the circumstances. I’m so glad I’m home now, though. Here’s to (hopefully) no more work trips the rest of the challenge.

Days Complete: 10

Tracked: No

Worked Out: Yes. 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Feeling: Happy to be home!

Day 39 – 60 Day Challenge

Breaking today in wins and losses:

WIN: Avoided unhealthy breakfast food. Had fresh pressed juice and a banana for breakfast.
LOSS: Considering I sat on a plane for 5 hrs, I probably snacked on more than I should. Nothing unhealthy per se, but specifically more hummus than I should have.
WIN: When I got to the hotel I forced myself to spend 40 minutes on the treadmill.
LOSS: Dinner was chicken pho at a Vietnamese restaurant. Relatively healthy but a big quantity.
WIN: We ended up walking about 40 minutes in the 35F evening after dinner. So at least my stomach felt settled before bed.

Not a great day but trying to celebrate the small victories.

Tracked: Yes, albeit a bit of guess work

Worked Out: Yes. 40 minutes on treadmill

Feeling: Meh

Day 38 – 60 Day Challenge

I’m going to be straight up with you – this wasn’t my best day. It wasn’t a complete failure, but definitely not what I wanted. Started off kilter because I’d had a late night before. Alarm went off at 7am in hopes I could run before having to hit to road for Carmel at 10am. Just didn’t happen. I was exhausted and had a few nights of restless sleep earlier this week. So no problem. I’ve worked out almost every day this week so not a huge issue. Stopped at Starbucks for a semi-healthy breakfast/lunch. Felt good. Probably snacked a bit more than I should’ve at our Chateau Julien afterparty. No big deal. Dinner I actually didn’t do too bad – I just didn’t do amazing. I allowed myself to eat 2 pieces of bread, which I really should’ve avoided. But you know, I’m not going to kick myself over it. Going to get back up and do better today. I have to fly to DC today so traveling is always a challenge. But I know I can do well like I did a month ago. Learning to be healthy under less than desirable circumstances is actually a good thing. Despite all this, I did track yesterday as well as I could guess in terms of points, etc. So as I said before, not a complete failure.

Date: December 8th, 2013

Days Complete: 8

Tracked: Yes

Worked Out: No

Feeling: Hopeful that I have no flight/crazy weather delays this morning.

Day 37 – 60 Day Challenge

It’s a late post but it’s been a very busy day so I’m going to keep this short. 7th day was pretty good. I had a tasty brunch that was a higher than normal points value, but knowing I wouldn’t eat until dinner, made sense. I did pretty well at the holiday party. It was buffet so I purposely didn’t get a ton of food. I did end up drinking a bit more than I anticipated, but hey, it was a splurge evening. Overall I felt like I enjoyed the party without overdoing it.

Stressing a bit because I have to fly to DC again for 25 hours tomorrow. Less worried about food, more worried about delays with winter storms. Oy vey….send good thoughts to the weather gods.
